“2 years ago today, I quit my corporate job days before my 40th birthday. People thought I was crazy, how can you leave a good job and in this economy (especially as a single parent)?!
When your soul is dying, that’s how. When you know you are meant to do something more than work in a square box from 8-5 and look forward to the weekends and two weeks of vacation. When you are tired of picking up your son from after-school care when it’s dark outside. When you are over living the same day, everyday and cannot see 25 more years of the same. When you have big dreams and decide the possible reward is bigger than the potential risk. When you decide to be in charge of your own economy, your own destiny.
I multiplied my previous corporate job income and work less than 40 hours a week, setting my own hours. And the best part is, I get to help people, what I was put on this earth to do.”
Here is her diary 2 weeks after quitting corporate:
Since working from home…
-From all day in the office to anywhere and outside office
-Heels and biz casual are now my favorite sandals and what I call ‘yoga business’ wear
-Hair is straight and messy, no heated styling tools needed
-Makeup is none or a little
-From being the assistant to having Nate and Lucky as my ‘interns’
-From not being fulfilled to working with those who have similar passions as I do, helping others be naturally happy and healthy
-From rushing each morning to setting the intention for my day
-From perpetual Groundhog Day (the movie) to what shall I do today?!!
…and it’s only been two weeks.
